One to Watch: Abbie Larkin

thesidelinelive

In October 2021 Abbie Larkin burst onto the Women’s National League scene scoring at the 6th minute in her debut for Shelbourne. Her performance earned her the player of the match award as they defeated Galway 2-0. Her strong performances continued and she earned a call up by Vera Pauw to the Irish Senior set up for the Pintar Cup in February 2022. She collected two caps at the tournament becoming one of the youngest players to feature for the Irish Senior women’s team.

The Ringsend teenager captained the U17 team during their EURO Qualifiers, however the squad were knocked out of the tournament earlier this month. Abbie’s talent and play has continued to impress Vera Pauw earning another call up for this week’s 2023 World Cup qualifier against one of the top teams in the world Sweden.

Abbie is already a star and it’s hard to believe the 5th year student will only turn 17 at the end of the month. Abbie Larkin is certainly one to watch!
